Walk for Cedar Park/Leander folks
(Southwest) Williamson County Regional Park in Leander, Texas. It is located off of 1431 and CR 175. Look for the park on the right and turn right onto Perry Mayfield Blvd. to get into the park. About this locale: This park is dog-friendly (leash-on required). If you want to bring your dog, please arrive about 15 minutes early though so they have a chance to meet before we get going, and please bring a baggie in case we need to clean up. This park actually has 2 trails (one gravel and one mulch) that join up for a total of about 4 miles - both are well-maintained. This is a pretty quiet walk usually, and there is some nice scenery along the route for those amongst you that might want to take a picture of two. FYI: Williamson County Regional Park features its very own small gauge railroad that provide rides for kids around the park. There is one rail crossing along the trail but we shouldn't have any problems hearing it coming (not sure if it runs in the evenings, I usually have only seen it during the day). But, in case you have kiddos this might be cool to check out at some point. I believe sunset will be around 7:30pm-ish based on the information I was able to find on the web. This walk should be enjoyable for everyone - wear comfy shoes, and walk at a speed safe for you! Might be a good idea to bring some bug-spray along, too. PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME - We will begin walking at 6:05pm. We will do the nature (mulch) trail first, and then the gravel. WEATHER NOTE: If it is raining 15 minutes before the scheduled meet-up time we will not meet - I don't anyone twisting an ankle and/or slipping. Questions?: E-mail me at [masked]
